Gardening in the Community

The latest addition to Highfield’s ‘Primary School Gardening Support’ scheme is Kingsway School in Quedgeley. Kate  visited  Kingsway in the first week of February and enjoyed planting  potatoes in old tyres and is looking forward to visiting them again!

Primary School Gardening Support: Kate will be visiting Primary Schools in our area and advising them how to get the best from their wildlife, vegetable and    sensory gardens.

Carrot Growing Competition: Kate will be visiting 25 local primary schools before their Easter Holiday where each child will be given the opportunity to sow their own   carrot seeds and take them home to grow in specially designed “grow bags”.  Judging will be held on July 11th & 12th

Eastington Brownies: In March Kate will be assisting 24 Brownies to achieve their "Gardener badge" – Good luck!

As a long established family run business, we understand the importance of developing and  supporting social networks within our community and have therefore devised a number of “Gardening with Children” activities both on site and within our community with a dedicated team member Kate Shields who has both horticultural qualifications and CRB clearance.
